Mission

FLSD's mission is to transform the self-defense tactics and mindset used in Law Enforcement, into an effective and low impact training tool for everyday people. We strengthen each student's personal confidence by creating a professional training environment that is welcoming and constructive to students, in order to instill lifesaving self-defense and awareness tactics.

About FLSD

FLSD instructors are current or former Law Enforcement officers with years of weaponless defense training. In order to maintain the integrity of the program, FLSD requires its instructors to have at least five (5) years of Law Enforcement experience. The background and experience of the instructors allows FLSD to transform the self-defense and awareness tactics used in Law Enforcement into something that can be applied to everyday life. Instead of teaching from just a martial art perspective, FLSD will teach its students tactics that are tried and tested every day by police officers in our communities.

The training curriculum will consist of a mixture of lecture and physical application, in a low impact setting that will encourage growth in the students. FLSD does not require the students to have any prior experience or special qualifications. In fact, FLSD's goal is to inspire those who do not have any prior experience to attend a training class, to prove to themselves that they have what it takes to be a survivor.

FLSD offers a two (2) hour class that costs a fraction of what martial art classes charge, and entails a fraction of the commitment that martial art programs require. FLSD pledges that students will quickly understand how the tactics taught in class are applicable to real life scenarios, and afterward students will feel better prepared to protect themselves and their loved ones.
